Some random tips:
To make your story as random as you can you obviously need to make it.... random! - not like an ordinary short story. Things that build up to randomness include:
-
giving names to objects or plants eg: Barry the tomato
-
making random comments not related to the current contex eg: Barry didn't have a red Irish walking stick
-
having dialogue or interaction between things that wouldn't usually interact eg: Alex (human) went to buy his pancreas a pancake
-
comments that don't make sense eg: Jerry did it anyway although his parents said he could but be careful to make sure the reader can still understand and 'follow' the story.
-
interact with the reader eg: did I tell you about what happened to the red dinosaur? make it rhetorical
-
repeat words (many times if necessary) eg: the man was really really really really fat but don't take more than a line or the story becomes boring and the reader simply skips it. use of capitalizing words is also effective to emphasise things
-
use unusual ownership eg: my bank's grandmother or use many ownerships (eg: my dog's baby's cat's mouse's...) ...can sometimes but not always be effective
-
if your device allows you - include emojis eg: and I was like 0_0 when he walked past but DON'T base your whole story on them - they are there a few times per story when using emojis, try to highlight them (if possible)
-
use contradicting sentences one dark day during the night but not too many, eg. one uniquely blue cold sunny warm cloudy ordinary day... it might just get over the top
-
be abnormally specific eg: when he fell, he fractured THE wrinkle on his face
-
use unusual numbers eg: he sued her $00592.78 or there were 7.98 people standing there don't make numbers too big or it detracts from the story and/or bores the reader
-
sometimes it is effective to use a topic for your story eg: politics, animals, Russia VS Ukrain or How Bill got his Name these can be specific or random - but don't complicate things eg: How Mars got its Name before it was Invaded by Squirrels who had eaten Mr Bean's comedian who did his Work for Him... is too complicated - make your topic simple but your story can be as random as you want
-
use * to show that an action is coming up eg: *walks up to a pig* make sure it is clear where actions start and end
-
incude actions that would not usually occur eg: the llama balanced on a turtle while eating a pork chop resting on a train
-
use of play on words eg: all the labour had made the liberals feel green
Examples of some ramblings:
just remember, these are just ideas- your ramblings can be as random and crazy as you want. The only limit is your imagination!
EXAMPLE #1:
Simply Random
Once there was a baby Phoenix who REALLY smelt. His skin had abandoned him at birth but an old lady with a wart on her eye took it in, sitting on its head and instantly giving the phoenix head injuries and a wry neck. Sadly, George the octopus died from lack of mayo and caused the earth's orbit to learn the Harlem Shake: the whole earth was CRAZY!!! The phoenix then evolved into a pickle and attempted to jump which resulted in Russia collapsing under a fat man named Phil's weight and Australia combusting. The earth then realised that dubstep was better than the Harlem Shake and had dinner with a Toyota Hilux while balancing pork chops on 3 icicles before licking the Hilux's horse after it sang the 'look at my horse' song. But the frog from Mars decided to wage war on Jerald the firefighter because he ate a ham sandwich instead of a frog leg sandwich. And you know how frogs from Mars are... it was World War 3!!!

EXAMPLE #2:
With emojis, * and exaggerations/random
"And as your new hash tag I now pronounce me a peach!"
*crowd all die and float up towards the sun*
*Hash tag tilts head to right and sets off earth re- route system although earth re-route system is in left shoulder*
As earth moved further and closer to the moon the moon said:
"Whoa man! Personal space!"
*moon sticks out butt and starts jiggling it to cowboy music*
*earth stops and gives moon an akward look 0_0 before curling up to the sun and going to sleep*
The moon continued this for 975 years and as the generations passed, the moon finaly stopped jiggling. But little Jimmy didn't have an ego for owls so this would be his final newspaper.
*newspaper turns into private jet and little Jimmy - a toddler - rips off shirt to reveal huge biceps and a 9 pack*
"But rose is green!" stated Einstein from his grave.
So as Jimmy sighed, he made his way to the kitchen to play with his Aunty rubber walrus known as Sam.
*Sam evolves, Jimmy's earlobe sighs for reasons known but EXTREMELY appropriate so we can't tell you*
But Jimmy told you:
"...evolved into a plastic pickle of doom with a round hair style like Elvis."

EXAMPLE #3:
With a topic: politics
One dark day during the night, Tony Hobbot was walking along when he tripped and fractured THE wrinkle on his left elbow which sued him $053.9999. In a desperate attempt to not eat a pie, Tony Hobbot travelled many cm over non dangerous terrain and safe areas not inhabited by anything dangerous except Luis the frog to get to John Howard's house. He inserted his kidney into the kidney recognition device which then required him to labor all over the green. After doing this, 6.7 Martians appeared and took his right pupil hostage. Tony Hobbot then summoned the 'French Fry Within'. But Bill the carbon tax had other plans: to buy cartons for his fish food and to feed his octopus X bear. After Bill returned from the human shop he unexpectedly breathed killing all life on earth and ending the universe as we know it. But was this the end? Was this the final destiny of the universe? Long story short: YES!
